The English Adventure Approach to English

Real-life English
At English Adventure camps, we want your child to have fun while playing in the great outdoors. Quality time with friends and staff will help them develop their listening and speaking skills, and nurture their desire to learn more English.
Please choose the program that best suits your child’s current English ability and watch your child acquire English skills over time.
Which Program is Best for My Child?
At English Adventure camps, we have three programs to choose from, based on the camper’s English level.
Beginner to Intermediate
English Challenge
Listen and speak lots of English! Campers will learn new words and phrases while enjoying outdoor activities. By using English while playing, campers will have plenty of input and output in English. A major perk of camp is that campers will return home with an increased interest in English and a stronger motivation to improve.

Intermediate to Intermediate
English Challenge Plus
Speak lots of English to build confidence! Team leaders will always speak to campers in English, and Japanese-speaking staff will assist only when necessary. Japanese is not prohibited among campers so that they can enjoy their time with their peers, but we encourage them to speak as much English as possible.

Choose a program based on the camper's English level, not on the parent's expectations
English Adventure’s camps offer three different programs for different English levels.
To allow your child to thrive in our English program, it is important to place them in the right English level. For the campers to immerse themselves in camp life, they should feel comfortable with the offered English level.
If your child’s English level is too high for the program, they will not completely enjoy themselves. If their English level is too low for the enrolled program, they will become lost and will not enjoy using their learned English at camp. Connection with other campers and counselors at camp is the key to having a great time!
The important thing in choosing a program is to select a program that matches your child’s current English ability and to ensure that he or she has a safe and fun time with many friends at camp.
If your child’s English level is too higher than the program you have chosen, he or she will feel inadequate. If they do not speak enough English, they will not be able to understand what is being said in English, will not be able to communicate what they want to say, and will not be able to enjoy the camp itself. Also, they will not be able to understand emergency instructions and will not be able to ensure their safety.
At English Adventure, we want your child to stretch out and enjoy authentic American-style camping in the great outdoors. The fun environment fosters listening and speaking skills and encourages children to “want to learn more” and “want to attend camp again! I want to attend camp again! and “I want to attend camp again!
Please choose a program that meets your child’s current English ability so that he or she can have a safe, lively, and enjoyable camp experience. We hope to see your child’s English skills grow over time.

It was my child's first time at camp. To be honest, I was worried whether he would be able to adjust to an all-English environment, but I was happy to see a big smile on his face when he returned. He made good friends and I am happy with my decision to send him to camp. He loved the food too!
