At English Adventure, Fun Opens The Doorway to Discovery
English Adventure is all about bringing the fun, excitement, and friendships of a classic American-style summer camp to kids in Japan. On top of that, everything we do is built to increase your child’s motivation and ability to communicate in English.
Our days are full of healthy play. Exploration. Engaging challenges. And connection with friends and caring staff. A well-rounded mix of activities means that kids of all kinds will find activities they love – and maybe a few that stretch their perspectives or comfort zones.
Kids of all ages love swimming and cooling off in our beautiful lake. (Safety first! Lifejackets always on, lifeguards always on duty.)
Elsewhere on the lake, older campers will be learning to paddle kayaks – including some fun games and competitions, and or just free paddling with friends, taking in nature from the calm surface of the water.
Amid a stand of soaring cedars, campers tackle the challenges of our low elements course. It takes more than physical coordination – teamwork, communication, and creative thinking are a must!
Huge grassy fields are host to all sorts of classic camp games and sports.
Over at the Craft House, campers get creative with the help of our arts and crafts activity leaders. Campers love taking some relaxed time here, with lots of conversation with friends and staff.
At the lakeside, or in the forest, our nature education specialist shares insights and new ways of understanding the rich living environment around us. This can include engaging games that include lessons about the natural world, and hands-on exploration and discovery of the natural world.
Evenings bring their own magical programming. We get to know our teammates during intimate small-group campfires, with plenty of marshmallows to roast.
Our famous dance party is one of the greatest hits for many campers each summer!
We also bring the camp together for a big bonfire. Staff and senior campers facilitate a special mix of camp songs, skits, laughter, and reflection. It’s one of the classic traditions that makes the residential camp experience truly one of a kind.
Other evening activity possibilities include star gazing, night-time nature walks, talent shows and group performances, and more. At our exclusive private campsite, we have the freedom to select the right programming for the weather conditions and needs of the campers – and to keep it fresh for the many kids who return each summer.
As you can see, we deliver on the “adventure” in English Adventure! At the same time we know that many families choose us for the English aspect of our camps. The great thing is that every one of our awesome activities is specifically designed to motivate and provide opportunities for English communication.
For the native or high-level English speakers in our Immersion sessions, it’s as simple as having a blast in a round-the-clock 100% English environment, day after day. Real American summer camp is in reach – right here in Japan.
For the English learners in our Challenge and Challenge Plus sessions, using English equals having fun – always with the right balance of challenge and accomplishment to keep them engaged and reaching for more.
For every camper, we put “English” and “Adventure” together in a way that promises an amazing summer and memories that will last a lifetime. Fun comes first – and is the gateway to a world of learning, growth, and personal development.
... and our program keeps evolving!
New for Summer 2026: EA Games! Also called “color wars” at many American summer camps, we’re bringing one of the most loved camp traditions to Japan. The entire camp will divide into teams for a wide variety of athletic, artistic, and creative challenges stretching over the whole session – all to decide the EA Games Champions!
The EA Games don’t just produce a winning team at the end of camp. They foster bonds between campers as they practice teamwork and cooperation. Campers of all ages and abilities will have important roles to play in their teams. The focus is on fun and excitement, with friendly competition and good sportsmanship a must. In the end we will all come together again as one camp, with memories to carry long after the EA Games are over. 2026 is the beginning of an epic new tradition at English Adventure, and we’re excited for your child to be part of it!
