Campsite

Our exclusive private location in Tsunan, Niigata is where the camp magic happens. Once a booming ski resort called Mountain Park Tsunan, our site has found a second life as English Adventure’s home.

400,000 square meters of hills, fields, lakes, and forests allow campers room to run, swim, play, and discover. Comfortable lodging, dining facilities, and indoor activity spaces complement the stunning natural outdoor setting.

Tsunan is one of the snowiest places in Japan. It’s cooler than Tokyo and other metro areas in the summer, with delicious water and clean mountain air.

Outdoor

Outdoor activities are designed to make the most of the wide variety of environments within our campsite. The low ropes challenge course is set within a majestic stand of towering cedar trees. Open fields are perfect for all kinds of games and active fun. And of course, our private lake with designated swimming and kayaking zones is one of the jewels of our site.

Campers live and play under open skies. Gorgeous views constantly change with the light and weather. On clear nights the stars are breathtaking, especially for campers who usually live among city lights. Our campsite is truly another world.

Lodge

The main Lodge building is the hub for camp life. Most campers sleep here. The Lodge’s Dining Hall and showers are used by all campers. If campers are not feeling well, we will escort them to the Lodge’s infirmary, with a nurse always on duty.

Glamping Site

New for 2025! All Upper Campers (grade 5-6) will be the first to stay in our exciting new glamping site – along with their dedicated camp staff, of course. Spacious, sturdy glamping tents are furnished with fans, nighttime lighting, and the same comfortable bedding as our main Lodge. Construction begins soon when the last snow melts from the area.

Check the Glamping Site FAQ for more details!

Indoor Facilities

Next door to our Lodge, a huge multipurpose building provides space for bouldering, crafts, an indoor performance stage, and much more. A few minutes away is our charming wooden Craft House, with large windows looking over the mountains to inspire campers’ creativity.

We carefully watch weather advisories and conditions. All campers can quickly shift from outdoor to indoor fun when needed thanks to our many sheltered activity spaces.

Access

Mountain Park Tsunan is near the border between Niigata and Nagano prefectures. About 230km from Tokyo, it’s 3.5 hours by car or public transport. The nearest shinkansen stations are Echigo-Yuzawa and Iiyama.

Most campers travel with our staff via shinkansen from Tokyo Station. After disembarking, it’s a short trip on chartered buses to our campsite. Campsite check-in and check-out are also available.
