Challenge Plus Program Interview Process
Thank you so much for applying to English Adventure Camp.
The purpose of the Challenge Plus interview is to place your child into the English program that is most suitable to their English ability.
An English Adventure staff member will talk with your child in English (online video chat) for up to 30 minutes to determine whether the "Challenge," "Challenge Plus," or "Immersion" program suits them best.
The interview is organized into three parts. In the first part, the English Adventure staff member will speak for a bit in English and then your child will describe what they heard in Japanese. Next, the staff member will ask your child questions in English, to which they will answer in English. The final part will be free English conversation between the staff member and your child.
Please be sure to read throughout the following information before making your interview reservation.
Interview Fee
We require 3,000 yen for the Challenge Plus Interview fee. You will be asked to enter your credit card information at the time of booking, but the actual payment will be made after the interview.
Interview Exemption
Campers who have been interviewed within the last 3 years and have been determined to be best suited for the Challenge Plus program can participate without an interview. (Example: The results of the 2019 interview are valid until the 2022 summer camp.) If you have any questions about the results of past interviews, please contact Customer Support.

Camp fee payment
The camp fee will be required after the suitable English program for your child is assessed through the interview. Please make a bank transfer within one week from the day you receive the interview result notification. (If the interview determines that another English program is best for your child, please change the English program and settle your camp fee with new English program)

Important Notes for Interview Booking
• The interview must be completed within 10 days from your camp registration date. In the event that the interview is not completed by the due date, your camp registration will be canceled.
• The interview requires 2 days advance booking (Notes: If you would like to have an interview on Monday, please make a reservation by Thursday of the previous week)
• The results of the interview will be sent to your email address within 24 hours.
• The interview is one-time only. It is not possible to schedule a second interview after receiving the results.
• If it is determined that your child is suitable for either the Challenge or Immersion program, you must decide which program you would like your child to join. However, we can only place a child into a program with open spots still available, so we recommend you to complete the interview as soon as possible.
How to book your Interview
If you have not signed up for a Challenge Plus program camp, you cannot apply for the Challenge Plus interview.
• Select an available date/time slot on the calendar to continue to the appointment screen.
• Enter your child's name and guardian's email address in the contact information (in the field of 氏名 and メールアドレス)
• In the 連絡事項 field, please enter the guardian's name and camp order number in romanized Japanese. (Ex. Taro Susuki, Camp Order Number 12345)
• 事前カード決済 (Advance credit card payment) will be displayed in the payment method field and a credit card number will be required. The credit card payment will be processed after your child completes the interview.
• Once your reservation is completed, the interview confirmation email will be automatically sent to the guardian's email address.
• Our interview team will email you with the description of the online video chat within 48 hours after your reservation is completed.

Cancellation of Interview
If the cancellation is made on the day before or on the day of your reservation date, you will be charged a cancellation fee of the full interview fee.
Also, please note that if you fail to show for the interview without notifying us of your cancellation, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.
The cancellation must be made through the RESERVA system, our interview 3rd party site. Please note that if the cancellation request is sent by e-mail, the cancellation will be processed during our Customer Support business hours and as a result, the cancellation may not be processed within the cancellation policy period. A cancellation fee may be applied.
Zoom Online Video Chat
Challenge Plus Interviews are conducted using an online video service called ZOOM.
If it’s first time for you to use Zoom, you will need to set up in advance your microphone and video. You will receive an email within 48 hours from making your interview reservation. Please follow the steps below and set up your device when you receive it.
1) Click the interview link to access Zoom and download. (If you use smartphone, download Zoom app)
2) Zoom ask you for permission to access your microphone, audio device and notifications. Please say Ok/Allow to all of them.
3) When you participate in the interview, 5 minutes before your interview time, please click Zoom link again and wait for your interviewer.
Note: Please join the interview through internet (not phone/dial-in).
