English Adventure began in 2003, serving Japan's returnee community with summer and winter camps. Then and now, our camps promise "An American Camp -- In Japan!" And today, we have great programs year-round for everyone, returnee or not.

Our activities
Along with our original camps, English Adventure has expanded to provide other fun programs throughout the year. These include hikes and nature walks, day camps, and cultural events like our popular Halloween party.
English Adventure also provides consulting, guide services, and custom programs for a wide variety of public and private clients. These clients choose English Adventure for our skill in using nature as a teaching tool, and as a bridge between people and cultures.

"It feels like we're not in Japan anymore!"
We love hearing this comment from both participants and staff. We're not an English school, but most of our programs provide round-the-clock exposure to real-life English. It's as close to an overseas atmosphere as you can get without buying an airline ticket.

Two types of English exposure
Native Level: For returnees, international school students and other high-level English speakers, we provide 100% English immersion programs. Completely suitable for even native speakers, the focus is on exciting American-style outdoor recreation. And while we're not an English school, many parents of returnees have commented that their children came home speaking smoother English.
Non-native / Regular Level: On the other hand, those with little or no English ability also have a great time with EA. In our non-immersion programs, our caring bilingual staff focus on having fun first, and let children naturally absorb as much English as they wish.

Focus on nature
We believe that almost anyone, child or adult, will benefit from spending more time in nature. We hope to introduce as many children as possible to the pleasures and wonders of the outdoors. Kids get both structured outdoor learning and free time to explore and play in nature, something many kids don't get enough of. English Adventure's programs are a place where children can learn to love nature.
To help make the most of our time in nature, we are constantly updating our qualifications and skills in outdoor education and leadership. Our staff hold many of the most widely recognized and respected certifications in the outdoor field, and include many year-round outdoor professionals. We take part in ongoing training, and regularly study and practice with other outdoor pros. English Adventure is dedicated to providing an experience that you won't find elsewhere.
